Abstract

Discussion method is one teaching method that is implemented in teaching and learning process in the classroom where the teachers give the problems to students and students have to solve the problems together. The formulation problem of this study is there any Influence of Discussion Method towards students’ learning activeness of the eight grade students on Islamic Religion Subject at SMP Masmur Pekanbaru. The total populations are 44 students. This is correlation study. In collecting the data are used questionnaires and documentations. While in analyzing the data is used simple linear regression. After analyzing data by using SPSS version 20 that obtained from table summary, it showed the coefficient correlation was 0,408 or 40,8%. And determination correlation was 0,654 or 65,4% which is categorized into “middle”. It means there is an influence of discussion method towards learning activeness which is in middle category because in the range of 0,40- 0, 599.
