Abstract

Halal product ingredient and process influenced a basic halal ingredient would be consumed by consumer. Halal product assurance was very important to muslim society, considering the technology progress in foods, medicine and cosmetics growing rapidly, and we should know the content that would be consumed and knowing the process of foods whether it was halal and based on regulation number 33 year 2014 about halal product assurance. The regulation consisted of protection, justice, legal certainty and professional. It could be explained that with halal product assurance, businessman could increase additional value to produce or sell their halal product. In this case, the writer interested in conducting research about the understanding of Pekanbaru Muslim society on halal product ingredient and process based on Indonesia regulation no. 33 year 2014 about halal product assurance. The regulation consisted of protection, justice, legal certainty and professional. It could be explained that with halal product assurance, businessman could increase additional value to produce or sell their halal product. In this case, the writer interested in conducting research about the understanding of Pekanbaru Muslim society on halal product ingredient and process based on Indonesia regulation no. 33 year 2014 about halal product assurance. The purpose in this research explained to know about the understanding of Pekanbaru Muslim society on halal product ingredient and process based on Indonesia regulation no. 33 year 2014 about halal product assurance. This research used field study. The sources of data were primer and secondary data. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis used frequency distribution. The research finding showed that the respondents understand about the ingredient based on regulation about halal product assurance especially about the indicators of animal should be slaughter with sharia procedures, and fanged animal could not be consumed, and also in halal product process, respondents understand that location, tools and PPH place should be protected to clean, hygienist and clean from excrement.
