Abstract

A leader who had lack of role in creating good communication and guidance would cause lack of employee’s working motivation. A leadership role was important to reach the purpose. In implement this role, it could do by seeing religious leadership in improving employees working motivation at environment and cleanliness department Pekanbaru City. The phenomenon happened in this department could be seen from the planning in briefing leadership that was done by a leader with assigning subordinates to do all his job and employees controlling involved attendance discipline, coordination behaviour and keeping working environment situation. Research formulation that discussed in this research questioned how the role of religious leadership in improving employees working motivation at environment and cleanliness department Pekanbaru City. The purpose in this research examined to know the role of religious leadership in improving employees working motivation at environment and cleanliness department Pekanbaru City. Research subject was all employees (5 persons) in environment and cleanliness department Pekanbaru City. Meanwhile the object in this research was religious leadership style role in improving employees working motivation. Data sources used primer and secondary data. Sampling technique used total sampling. Research sampling in 5 persons. Data collection technique used questionnaire, and data analysis used qualitative method. The analysis data used data reduction, presentation and drawing conclusion. Research finding showed that the chairman at DLHK Pekanbaru City had role in improving employees working motivation and it could be seen from communication and giving good example, checking employee’s performance report, controlling regularly in working quality of all employees in this department.
