Abstract

Earning was something that given to employee as compensation that he had done. Earning could be said as feedback that given to employees directly for his working result that could be measured with specific unit (the number of things be produced or services be given). The research formulation questioned about the sharia economic perspective toward earning system for farmers areca nut harvesting at Benteng village Sungai Batang subdistrict Indragiri Hilir district. The purpose in this research examined to know how the earning system for farmers areca nut harvesting at Benteng village Sungai Batang subdistrict Indragiri Hilir district. The informant was areca nut owners and areca nut peelers. This research used field research, and it used qualitative descriptive method. Data collection technique used observation, interview and documentation. Research findings showed that earning system for farmers areca nut harvesting at Benteng village Sungai Batang subdistrict Indragiri Hilir district, viewed from sharia economic concept that earning system could not suitable with sharia economic, because in sharia economic concept, before starting their job, it should be explained to the farmers about their earning between farmers and owner, timing and the number of salaries that they got did not in written form. This regulation had been agreed for both parties and some was still determined by the owner. In sharia economic this determination should be determined by both parties in written form. The writer suggestion that before starting their job, the farmers should be explained about their earning and the implementation of agreement between owner and farmer should be in written form and did not in verbal form only.
