Abstract

This research is based on the problem of students’ memory difficulties in learning. Meanwhile, the memory is an important aspect in learning activities. Therefore, in improving students’ learning memory, teachers should be able to improve students' emotional intelligence so that they know how high the students’ emotional intelligences are. Based on these problems, then the writer conducted a research of the influence of emotional intelligence on students’ memory in learning. From this case, the problem emerged was how the influence of Emotional Intelligence on Students’ memory in learningin the Subject of Islamic studies of Class XI social science at SMAN 1 Singingi. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of emotional Intelligence on Students’ memory in learning the Subject of Islamic studies of Class XI social science at SMAN 1 Singingi. The type of this research is correlation research. The subject was students of class XI social science at SMAN 1 Singingi and the object was the influence of emotional intelligence on students' memory in learning. The population in this study was 45 students and as well as the sample. Data collection techniques used in this research were questionnaires and documentation. Based on the data analysis conducted, it found that there is an influence of Emotional Intelligence on students’ memory in learning the subject of Islamic studies of Class XI social science in SMA 1 Singingi. This is in line with the analysis results of simple linear regression which obtained a significance value smaller than 0.05, which is 0.046 <0.05, then the research hypothesis is accepted. There is an Influence of emotional Intelligence on students’ memory in learning. The high level of influence of emotional intelligence on students’ memory in learning can be seen from the pearson correlation probability value of 0.090 or 9% in the correlation coefficient interval located in the range 0.00-0.199 and the criteria for the level of influence is very low concerning to the emotional Intelligence on students’ memory in learning Islamic studies of Class XI social science at SMA 1 Singingi.
