Abstract

This research was motivated by the reality in teachers’ performance problems at Islamic junior high school Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru. The symptoms could be seen from the low performance, in observation, teachers were lack of discipline in following working time, some teachers could not master in their subject and lack of skill in presenting lesson. The research formulation questioned about was there any influence of emotional quotient on teachers’ performance at Islamic junior high school Darul Hikmah Pekanbaru.the purpose in this research examined to know the influence of emotional quotient on teachers’ performance at Islamic junior high school darul Hikmah pekanbaru. This research used quantitative with correlational approach. The sample took with total sampling, where all teachers as sample because they were less than 100 teachers. The population was 70 teachers, and the sample was 70 teachers. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation, then this research finding showed that the hypothesis about influence of emotional quotient was accepted with significant score less than 0.05 or 0.000 < 0.05. it meant that the hypothesis was accepted. The influence of emotional quotient on teachers’ performance could be seen from R square score (0.413 or 41.3%) with strong enough category. Meanwhile others 58.7% teachers’ performance was influenced by others factors.
