Abstract

The country of Thailand has muslim banking products which has been introduced since 1998 andinaugurated in October 2002 called the Islamic Bank of Thailand. Islamic Bank of Thailand is astate-owned financial institution under the authority of the Ministry of Finance of Thailand and the banking operations in carrying out its functions are regulated under the Act of the IslamicBank of Thailand that is the Act BE 2545. The idea of establishing Sharia Banking in Thailand isto meet the needs of Muslims in 3 (three) particular southern border provinces namely Pattani,Yala, and Narathiwat. Consequently, the response or attitude of southern Thai Muslimcommunity towards the Islamic Bank of Thailand is quite diverse, especially regarding itsservices, the ease of obtaining access to funding, and the products offered. The research problems in this study are what factors that influenced the interest of customers in joiningIslamic Bank of Thailand of Narathiwat provincial branch towards the existence of the IslamicBank of Thailand of Narathiwat provincial branch itself and what factors that influenced theinterest of customers in joining the Islamic Bank of Thailand of Narathiwat Provincial branchtowards its services. This research is a field study of causal inference. While the data collectiontechniques used are questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study show that theinfluential contribution of independent variable (culture, social, personal, psychology, service,mix marketing service and bank excellence) to the dependent variable was 52.2%, while theremaining 47.8% was influenced by other factors which are not included in this study such ascustomer perception factors, profit level factors or profit sharing ratios which proves that thefactors that influence the interest of customers in joining Islamic Bank of Thailand of Narathiwatprovincial branch are "neutral" with a percentage rate of 41% -60%.
