Abstract

This study aims to determine the magnitude of the role of the leading sector in economic growth in Indragiri Hulu Regency in 2013-2017 in the study using descriptive methods using quantitative data and by using the LQ (location quotient) analysis formula. Based on the research that has been done, the LQ value in 2013 of the largest Indragiri Hulu Regency is the LQ value in the Mining and Excavation Sector, which is 2.12. In 2013 the contribution of the mining and quarrying sector was 17.12%. The LQ value in the Mining and Excavation Sector in 2014 was as much as 2.12. In the mining and quarrying sector in 2014, the contribution was 10.64%. Furthermore, the LQ value in the Mining and Excavation Sector in 2015 was 1.24 and the contribution amount decreased in 2015 which was 10.16%. And the LQ value in the Mining and Excavation Sector in 2016 was 1.43 with a large contribution to the mining and quarrying sector in 2016 of 9.78%. Furthermore, the LQ value in the Mining and Excavation Sector in 2017 is equal to 1.5 with the contribution in 2017 experiencing a slight decrease of 8.94%.
