Abstract
This research was carried out in Kepulauan Meranti Regency, the purpose of this study is to find out how big the income level fisherier business actors in Kepulauan Meranti Regency, and to find out how big the role of fisheries in increasing employment in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency. The data analysis used in this study is quantitative descriptive method that is the method π = TR – TC, This method is used to calculate the level of income from business in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency. Besides, the analysis of labor elasticity in looking at the role of fisheries business in absorbing labor in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency. From the results of this study it is known that of the eleven fisheries business groups in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency the total income is Rp. 1,267,850,000 per year. Of the eleven fisheries business groups in the Kepulauan Meranti Regency each increase in fishery business production by 1% will create employment opportunities 0.30%.
