Abstract
This study aims to find out how big the role of the sector non-agriculture towards employment in the city of Pekanbaru. Method the research used for this writing is the research method literature and documentation techniques done first collect data that is then classified, analyzed, against problem. The results of this study indicate that the role of the non-agricultural sector the absorption of labor in the city of Pekanbaru plays a major role in employment, among the 16 non-agricultural sectors 14 of them play a role in employment, and among 14 sectors there are 3 sectors which plays an important role in the absorption of labor, namely the industrial sector 2010 processing of 3,525 people, to 4,090 people or increased by 25.76% in 2016. The construction sector in 2010 was 2,779 people, to 7,007 people or increase 152% in 2016. Sector the 2010 large trade amounted to 3,840 people to 7,558 or increased by 96.82% in 2016. Thus the role of the non-death sector the absorption of labor in the city of Pekanbaru plays a major role in employment in the city of Pekanbaru.
