Abstract
This accounting application research was carried out in Pekanbaru in a coffee shop business. The problem in this study is whether the application of accounting used by the coffee shop business is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting in implementing the coffee shop. The purpose of this research is to determine the extent to which the suitability of accounting application by coffee shop businesses in Pekanbaru. whether it is in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting. In the research data collected is primary data obtained directly from respondents through interviews and questionnaires to coffee shop owners in Pekanbaru and secondary data obtained from respondents, namely financial report data, namely daily recording books (cash books) from coffee shop business owners in Pekanbaru. And the method used in this research is structured interviews to complete secondary data and documentation through retrieval of documents in the form of a diary. While the data analysis used is descriptive method. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that the application of accounting in the coffee shop business in Pekanbaru is not in accordance with the basic concepts of accounting.
