Abstract

A # 54 well on field A has a problem in producing fluid because the pump suddenly dies (pump stuck) and production is slow (low production) on the pump Hydraulic Pumping Unit installed. This can cause a decrease in the productivity of the pump that is problematic, so it will cause the pump not to produce optimally and it will be a problem in the economy of the well if this problem occurs continuously. Several methods are used to identify pumping stuck and low production, which is first calculating the total load on the well, second calculating the effect of friction due to sand content on the plunger and adding the polish rod load and third calculating the addition of total load and friction force on the increase in hydraulic pressure. Based on the sand content analysis performed, it has been obtained for A # 54 wells to have a total load value of pump stuck condition = 2089 lb, low production = 2122 lb and the hydraulic pressure value at pump stuck condition = 588 psi and low production = 597 psi. Second, the value of the effect of friction force due to sand content on pump stuck condition = 55.2 lb, low production = 254.8 lb and the addition of maximum polished rod load at pump stuck condition = 2158 lb, low production = 2392 lb. Third, the value of adding total load and friction force to the increase in hydraulic pressure at pump stuck condition = 607 psi and low production = 673 psi. From the analysis results, the HPU pump total load increased from = 2089 lb to = 2158 lb in pump stuck conditions caused by friction force due to the effect of sand content of = 55.2 lb and hydraulic pressure increased from = 588 psi to = 607 psi. Then the increase in total load from = 2122 lb to = 2392 lb in low production conditions caused by friction force due to the effect of sand content is = 254.8 lb and the hydraulic pressure has increased from = 597 psi to = 673 psi.
