Abstract

Sungai Apit District has various potentials for the development of rice farming, but its production is increasing. This is because the production factors (seeds, labor, fertilizer, and pesticides) used by farmers are not efficient. This study discusses to analyze: Cultivation technology, the use of production factors, production costs, revenues, benefits, and farm efficiency, factors that support production, efficiency of rice production in Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. The method in this study is a survey method, which is located in Sungai Apit District, Siak Regency. The sample in this study was selected randomly (simple random sampling), with a total of 40 farmers, taken from 4 villages that produce rice namely Teluk Lanus Village, Harapan, Teluk Mesjid and Desa Parit I / II. The analytical method used in this study is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis, multiple regression estimation methods OLS (Ordinary Least Square) with the Cobb-Douglas function. The results showed: The technology of paddy cultivation applied by farmers was in accordance with official recommendations, Production of paddy farming in Apit Sungai Sungai District Favorable with farming efficiency of 2.03, Factors that had a significant (real) effect on paddy production were seeds and KCl, while urea, phonska, pesticides, and labor are not significant at the 5% significance level, lowland rice production in Sungai Apit District Siak Regency is technically inefficient, allocative, and economical
