Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of passing under the game of volleyball with the demonstration method of class VII students of SMPN 42 Pekanbaru. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles. The subject of this study was conducted in class SMPN 42 Pekanbaru with a total of 31 students. Data collection of this research was obtained through practical tests to see the improvement of students' under- passing skills. The results of this study indicate that the use of demonstration methods on physical education learning by sports and recreation can improve students' learning skills in the basic technique of passing under the volleyball of class VII students of SMP 42 Pekanbaru. It is known from the number of students who completed in the first cycle as many as 19 students with a percentage of completeness of 61% and the value is not complete there are 12 students with a percentage of 39% the average value of 75 and increased in the second cycle of students who complete as many as 29 students with a percentage completeness is 94% and the value is not complete there are 2 students with a percentage of 6% with an average value of 79. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that research using demonstration methods on learning physical education by health and recreation sports can improve passing under the volleyball game class VII students of SMPN 42 Pekanbaru.
