Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of class X students of Kuantan Mudik Public High School on cultural arts lessons (dance) using the project based learning method in Kuantan Mudik Subdistrict, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province academic year 2018/2019. This study took place in Kuantan Mudik Public High School, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province. The subjects in this study were 30th grade students of Kuantan Mudik Public High School, Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau Province, as many as 30 people. Data analysis used in this study was quantitative descriptive analysis, where data and information obtained from the field were described data about dance teaching using project based learning and arranging, compiling data that gives the possibility of applying conclusions or simplifications, selective and easy to understand and understand. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the application of the Project Based Learning method can improve student learning outcomes in traditional dance in Class X students of the Kuantan Mudik State High School class that has run smoothly and in accordance with the stages and steps of the Project Based Learning method.
