Abstract
This study aims to determine Gambus Betandang Dance by the late Maulana Syahputra in Sanggar Dang Purnama, Rengat City, Indragiri Hulu Regency, Riau Province. The dance theory used in this research is the theory of Soedarsono (1986: 103-119) about the elements of dance namely motion, music, floor design, dynamics, themes, makeup, costumes, property, lighting and Sal Murgianto's theory (2004: 108) about the elements of dance support, namely the stage and audience. This research method is descriptive method in the form of documentary analysis survey with qualitative data. The data collection techniques used were nonparticipant observations, structured interviews and documentation. Gambus betandang dance is a dance that is based on the tradition of the Talang Mamak Tribe. Gambus Betandang dance is based on zapin movement, Malay dancing and martial arts. The results of this study indicate that there are 6 different types of motion that are desired9 mmusic devices, floor designs are curved lines, straight, irregular circles, zigzags, diagonals, trapeziums, and angles. Changes are made when there is motion, motion level, direction of direction and floor design. The theme of this dance is about love and compassion, the chamfer mamam to the wamnita he loves. Costumes in this dance women use blue jkebaya and blue pants, for men to wear blue clothes with vbiru pants and climb on the head. Make up notes are beautiful makeup for women and handsome makeup for men. The code of conduct uses a neutral danger. Using the proscenium stage with property gambus. And for the audience there is no limit.
