Abstract

This thesis discusses Institution Offering Dance Malay Customary in Karimun Regency, Riau Islands Province used is the theory of Soedarsono (1986: 103-119) about the elements of dance namely motion, music, floor design, dynamics, costumes, themes, makeup, lighting and theory Sal Murgianto (2004: 108) about the supporting elements of dance namely stage and the audience. The methodology of this research is descriptive method with data qualitative. The data collection technique used is interview technique structured, non-participant observation and documentation. Dance performance Offering is one of the traditional dances or classical (Malay) dances generally performed to welcome guests who are glorified or respected. Dance Offering is one of the dances that becomes pride and icon the art of Malay society in the Riau Islands Province. As the name implies "Offering", this dance as a dance to offer a respect To the guests who come. The hallmark of this dance is submission of betel nut to one respected guest. Research result shows that there are 11 different types of motion, using Gong instruments, Drum Pasu, Violin and Accordion, floor design / pattern in this dance that is Uphold Tepak, Open Jermal, Kites, Fences, Twin Plots, and Jermal Close. Changes in dynamics of motion, changes in level, direction of direction and the floor design on the dance. In dance this offering has no theme especially because of this dance offerings. Make up on this offering dance generally use beautiful and beautiful makeup in the view of the audience, with use head accessories such as bun, five pieces jurai or edit and rocking flower, using earrings (eardrops) using dukuh or brooch, wear pending at the waist, then use Baju Kurung or Kebaya Labuh, folded cloth left and right over, using a side cloth and bengkong, using short or no sash or sling use footwear. And the stage using the prosenium stage.
