Abstract

This study aims to determine the creativity of students in learning cultural arts (dance) in SMA Negeri 2 Bangko, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Student creativity is seen from Theory According to Parnes, consisting of 5 theories, namely: 1) Fluency (fluency) 2) Flexibility 3) Originality 4) Elaboration 5) Sensitivity. The results of students' creativity research in learning dance creations are 1). Students have fluency in thinking seen when the teacher gives assignments in creating dance, students can determine themes, movements, music and floor patterns. 2) Thinking flexibility is seen when students explore, organize and arrange movements into a dance in accordance with the themes that have been determined by the group. 3) The ability of originality seen from students when combining the results of thoughts or ideas in creating dance movements in a unique, interesting way in producing dance creations in accordance with the tasks given by the teacher. 4) Elaboration ability is seen when when students work together or discuss problem solving, students exchange ideas to generate ideas to determine themes in the making of dance or movement in each group and can develop and improve ideas according to the tasks given by the teacher. 5) The ability of sensitivity is seen when students can capture and generate ideas or determine themes, movements, music, and determine the floor patterns of dance creations that are made. and can also develop and solve a problem or task given by the teacher properly. This research uses descriptive qualitative method, the research instrument is not directly involved in activities that occur in the field. Collection techniques used include data collection using observation, interviews, and documentation. The subjects of this study were 27 people, 1 art and culture teacher and 26 students of class XI IPA 4 in SMA Negeri 2 Bangko, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. With the creativity of students in learning cultural arts (creative dance), students can work together in producing creative dances and can develop their creativity.
