Abstract

question that refers to students to have high-level thinking skills (HOTS). This research is a type of research and development (Research & Development). Research and development methods (Research & Development) are research methods used to produce certain products, and test the effectiveness of these products. The subjects of this study were students of class XI IPS 3 in State High School 14 Pekanbaru. Data collection uses validation and test sheets. Test the validity of using ANATES analysis. The data analysis technique used was ANATES analysis which was then categorized according to the criteria. The results of the study swoh that: (1) The ability of students to HOTS (Higher Order Thinking Skill) can be classified as good, because the results of tests that have been done by students have reached a score of 13 numbers out of 15 MCQs. And score of 20 from each of the 5 description questions. (2) Questions with a large index of difficulty 0.0 indicate that the question is classified as very difficult, on the contrary a large index of 1.0 indicates that the question is classified as very easy. It can be concluded that in the multiple choice question there are 7 questions whice have a moderate category, there are 4 questions that have difficult categories, there are 4 more questions which have very difficult categories while in the discription question it is found that the difficulty level of the description questions has a moderate category, for all number same category. (3) The result of test analysis in distinguishing features show that in multiple choice questions the power index has a difference of ≥ 0.5 so that the item items have good different power, and in the description problem, it can be seen that for all good numbers 1-5 numbers have different power indexes ≥ 0.5, so the item items have good different power.
