Abstract
This study is motivated by the large number of students whomemorize the Qur'an atMa'had Al-Munawwarahof Islamic University of Riau (UIR)that havesignssuch as lack of motivation and lack of confidence in memorizing the Qur'an and it seems that their interests and willingness to memorize the Qur'an are low.Therefore, the writer thenis interested in doing research on it. The motivationofmemorizingAl-Qur'an is expensive gold chunks that they do not know they will get valuable things. Motivation to memorize the Al-Qur'an is an impulse that someone must havein order to be able to read and memorize the Qur'anuntil it is finished and able to apply the contents inthe Al-Qur'an. The title of this study is the students’ motivation inmemorizingAl-Qur'an atMa'had AlMunawwarahof Islamic University of Riau with the aim is to investigate students’ motivation to memorize Al-Qur'an atMa'had Al-Munawwarahof Islamic University of Riau. The type of this research is descriptive that is conducted to investigate the existence of independent variablevalue, either one variable or more without making comparison or connecting with other variables. The research population arestudents atMa'had Al-Munawwarahof Islamic University of Riau as many as 150 people and the sample taken was 109 people. After doing research, the data were processed and analyzed. Based on the result of research conducted, it can be concluded that the students’ motivation inmemorizing Al-Qur'an atMa'had Al-Munawwarahof Islamic University of Riau is at the level of "High" or it is in the range of 51% -75%.
