Abstract
Final year college students often feel anxious about work life. This anxiety makes family support paramount. The purpose of this study was to test the correlation between family social support with anxiety toward work life in college students. The subjects were 192 final year students of Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Islamic University of Riau, whom selected by simple random sampling technique. The measurement instrument used was anxiety scale (α = 0.910) and a family social support scale (α = 0.892). Pearson Product Moment correlation analysis showed a negative correlation of - .394 (p<0.05). The higher family social support, the lower anxiety, and vice versa. Family social support contributed 15,5 % to anxiety toward work life in college students.
