Abstract
Practical Teaching is one of the programs in teacher pre-Specifically designed to prepare candidates for mastering integrated and integrated teacher skills, so that after completing their education and being appointed as a teacher, they are ready to assume their duties and responsibilities as a teacher. But some of students as a pre-service teacher have barriers in practical teaching.The aim of this study was to find out what kinds of the barriers faced by English students in the practical teaching at FKIP UIR. The design of this research was qualitative research.implementing chracteristics of a case study and the data were obtained throught the use of questionanaire. It was conducted at English Study Program Teacher Training and Education Faculty of Universitas Islam Riau. The population of this research was the ninth semester of English student who have followed the pre-service teacher in practical teaching. And the sample of the research were 30 English students.this research focused on the students barriers in pre-service teacher in practical teaching. The result of this research was, the classroom management became a biggest barriers in practical teaching by the pre-service teachers.there are 24 for to 30 respondents were unble to managing the classroom well. 17 respondents were unable to create and giving interesting story that relevance to the study during the learning teaching process. Meanwhile, all of the respondents open the lesson well, they did not have barriers in giving motivation to the students,coveying the objective research and preparing the material before practical teaching exam.
