Abstract

The purpose of the reasearch was to find out whether there was or not any significant effect of One Stay Rest Stray Strategy towards students’ reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru. The research problem was formulated as “ Is there any significant effect of One Stay Rest Stray Strategy towards students’ reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru?. The research design ws a experimental research. In conducting this research, the researcher taught experimental class by using One Stay Rest Stray strategy and control class was taught by using another strategy The location of carrying out this research activity was at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru in February 2018 at SMPN 25 Pekanbaru. The sample of the research was VII B and VII C. They were 30 students in the class in experimental class. The writer used t test for analysing data. The research result showed that the data were obtained from the students’ pre test and post-test scores of experimental and control class. The test was to answer the questions based on the text in multiple-choice form. Ha is accepted if to> t – table or there is any significant effect of Two Stay Two Stray Strategy towards students’ reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru . Ho is accepted or Ha is rejected if to< t –table or there is no any significant effect of Two Stay Two Stray Strategy towards students’ reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru . After accounting the degree of freedom, the writer got result that “t” formulated, 9,95 was higher than “t” table in level significant 5% = 2.010 and 1% = 1,677. It can be see that 2.0017 < 9,41 < 1.6716. Based on the research it can be seen that there is a significant effect of Two Stay Two Stray Strategy towards students’ reading comprehension at the first year students of SMPN 25 Pekanbaru .
