Abstract

Schizophrenia is a disorder that can happen to everyone. When a person is already experiencing schizophrenia disorder, then the person has certainly had to get care and full attention from his family. Care and attention given by the family will certainly make the family get various demands and pressure every day, so to overcome the various demands and pressures faced that, the family must have a high level of resilience. This study aims to determine the relationship between intrinsic religiosity and resilience in caregiver people with schizophrenia who are undergoing outpatient at Mental Hospital of Tampan Riau Province. Subjects in this study were ODS caregivers who were undergoing outpatient at Mental Hospital of Tampan Riau Province as many as 100 people by using quota sampling technique. Instruments used to retrieve data in this study is the scale of intrinsic religiosity and resilience scale. Data were analyzed by using product moment correlation analysis with SPSS 18.0 for windows program. The result of product moment correlation analysis obtained correlation coefficient of 0.293 with value p = 0,024 (p <0,05). This shows that there is a positive and significant correlation between intrinsic religiosity and resilience in caregiver people with schizophrenia who are undergoing outpatient at Mental Hospital of Tampan Riau Province, that is, the higher the intrinsicreligiosity of caregiver, the higher the resilience.
