Abstract

The future of the Indonesian nation is determined by the younger generation of this nation. The emergence of the tendency of the phenomenon of juvenile delinquency mainly still a student lately become an alarming problem. One of the phenomena of deviant behavior is Komix cough medicine abuse committed by juveniles Village Air Emas. To analyze the causes of cough medicine abuse among teens Komix Air Emas village, researchers used the theory of social bond by traffic hirchi. The research was conducted on eight Air Emas village youth who committed abuse of cough medicine Komix as well as on the family and village officials. This type of research is qualitative and selection of informants using purposive sampling technique with some predetermined criteria which Air Emas village youth ages 13-18 who did Komix cough medicine abuse, then also the parents of teenagers. From the research found the cause of cough medicine abuse among adolescents in the village Komix Air Emas is due to two things, the process of studying the behavior of friends playing and lax control over the course of the values and norms prevailing in society. From the study, informants to get information about how, motivation and attitudes concerning drug abuse Komix cough. Lack of control for the values and norms because of their parents' job is mostly fishermen who work at morning of efning time with work time is relatively long so did not have time to supervise and control the activities of children. Besides the oversight conducted by village officials and the sanctions provided in Komix cough medicine abusers are not implemented to the fullest.
