Abstract

Reading is also one of the most important skills for the academic. It plays an important role in learning. The aim of teaching reading is develop the students ability to read the material, get information and understand about text. Researcher focuses on the 3H (Here, Hidden, and in my Head) strategy which is applied in answering questions and it is effective to lead students to have a good comprehension. The researcher focus on reading comprehension of narrative text. This research is experimental research, type of the research that can test hypthothesis to establish cause and effect relationship. The researcher taken two classes as the sample of this research, class X3 became the experimental group and X2 became the control group, of first year classes in SMA TRI BHAKTI Pekanbaru.The research finding showed that there was increase between pre-test and post-test. It could be seen from the average score pre-test is 80,38 and post-test is 80,44 it means that there is increase of students reading comprehension being thought by using 3H ?(Here, Hidden, and in my Head) strategy. The degree of freedom is 24 at level 5%and consequently there is a positive significant effect of 3H strategy toward students’ Reading comprehension of narrative text at the first year students of SMA Tri Bhakti Pekanbaru.
