Abstract

Protection of women in Pelalawan District has not been going well, in fact, increasing cases of violence against women. Violence against women not only occurs in beatings, sexual harassment by families, neighbors and others. The research objectives for the roles and obstacles of the Office of Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control and Family Planning Pelalawan District against the protection of women. This research uses descriptive survey type through quantitative method with population and sample determined from government and society amount to 35 people, data collecting technique used observation, questionnaire, interview, and documentation. Then all the collected data are classified and then analyzed to obtain the research conclusions. The role of Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Pelalawan District Planning Service on the protection of women are in the less important category. Factors inhibiting the Office of Women Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning of Pelalawan District in providing protection to women in this study found two most prominent factors namely resource factors and public awareness factors.
