Abstract

Regional Regulation of Pelalawan Regency Number 7 Year 2015 on Waste Management Explained in Article 3 "Waste Management is organized based on the principle of responsibility, the principle of sustainability, the principle of benefit, the principle of justice, the principle of consciousness, the principle of togetherness, the principle of security and the principle of economic value". Then, in this research the problem is seen based on Article 26 paragraph (4) Letter D of Waste Management Institution at Sub-District level has duty, among others: Coordinate Waste management institution in kelurahan level; Supervise the implementation of orderly waste management starting from the level of the community to the village and the environment of the region; and Propose the need for temporary shelter and integrated waste management site to SKPD in charge of garbage. The purpose of this study is for the role of the Environment Agency in managing waste that is currently still a problem. This research is a survey conducted by using descriptive quantitative method. The location of this research was conducted at Pelalawan District Environmental Office. Population in this research is Head of Environment Department, Head of Waste Management, and Employee of Waste Management. Sampling technique in this research is census technique and incidental sampling technique. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, observation, documentation, interviews, and bibliography. Based on the research result of Role of Environment Department of Waste Management Field in Pangkalan Kerinci Sub-district, Pelalawan Regency. categorized Good Enough. obstacles in the role of the Office of the Environment is not maximized socialization given to the community, lack of supervision from the leadership, and lower its facilities and infrastructure in the transportation of waste.
