Abstract

This study aims to know and analyze the role of youth sports and tourism in developing a lake tour menduyan Indragiri upstream district and also find out the barriers experienced by youth sports and tourism in developing a lake tour menduyan. The penomena that penetiti find in the field is the lack of development undertaken by the youth sports and tourism office lake menduyan this can be seen from some infrastructure and facilities that have been damaged and lost, the lack of promotion by the youth sports and tourism this can be seen from still not many visitors who come to lake attractions menduyan. The population and sample in this research are head of department, head of object development and tourism attraction, staff of tourism staff, visitors of lake favorites, and also the manager of lake attraction menduyan. The sampling technique that researchers use is aksidential sampling technique that is by meeting people or visitors who come to lake attractions menduyan. Data in this research consist of primary data and secondary data. In this study, researchers collect data through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The type of research used is quantitative type with descriptive method. The results of research conducted on the role of youth sports and tourism are in the category "Good Enough" while the obstacles of youth sports and tourism is, the youth sports and tourism is still less active in developing the potential of lake attractions menduyan, still lack in promoting lake attractions menduyan, lack of budget allocations, still lack of participation of surrounding communities and visitors in guarding lake attractions menduyan. From the results of the study and also the barriers that the authors pointed out. So the authors conclude and also give advice to the youth sports and tourism.
