Abstract
Sales transactions are activities that are often carried out by the community to meet their daily needs. In practice, the relationship between businesses and consumers often causes problems, especially regarding the quality of goods and the provision of warranties for electronic products. Unclear responsibilities for damaged goods can cause losses for consumers and trigger disputes in the implementation of sales agreements. This study has two main issues to be discussed, namely: How are sales agreements for damaged electronic products implemented at the Rimbun Elektronik store in the Marpoyan Damai subdistrict, and what are the obstacles to sales agreements for electronic products at the Rimbun Elektronik store in the Marpoyan Damai subdistrict? The purpose of this study is to determine the results of the research questions formulated by the researcher. This legal research falls under the category of empirical sociological research. This type of research method is designed to address current issues by collecting data, organizing or classifying it, and analyzing and examining legal realities in society in order to arrive at a conclusion. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of sales agreements for electronic products at Rimbun Elektronik Store in Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict has not fully complied with the terms of the agreement or the warranty policies that should be applied. This is evident from the lack of clear information provided to consumers, suboptimal guarantees regarding the condition of goods, and the store’s minimal accountability in addressing product damage. The factors hindering the implementation of these agreements include differing understandings between consumers and businesses regarding liability for product damage, consumers’ lack of understanding of their rights, slow complaint resolution, consumers’ lack of proof of purchase, and the involvement of distributors or manufacturers, which delays problem resolution. This makes it clear that current practices do not provide legal certainty and do not reflect the proper and correct implementation of the agreement.
