Abstract

The implementation of Corporate Social Responsibility plays an important role in supporting the improvement of education quality. PT. Bank Riau Kepri Syariah, as a Regional Owned Enterprise (BUMD) engaged in the financial sector, has implemented Corporate Social Responsibility, including in the field of education. However, information related to the implementation of CSR in the field of education, especially in the city of Pekanbaru, is still limited without in-depth explanations regarding the mechanisms and implementation. The issues examined in this study are how PT. Bank Riau Kepri Syariah implements CSR to improve education in the city of Pekanbaru and the obstacles that arise in the implementation of CSR. The research method used is empirical research, which is research conducted by going directly to the field and using data collection techniques in the form of interviews with research respondents. The results of the study show that the implementation of PT. Bank Riau Kepri Syariah's Corporate Social Responsibility in the field of education is carried out based on local government recommendations. The source of funds for Corporate Social Responsibility comes from the company's profit allocation and dividends determined through the General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS). The obstacles faced include incomplete administration of prospective aid recipients, as well as communication and coordination obstacles with aid recipients, especially for those who are studying abroad. These obstacles have resulted in delays in the distribution of assistance and suboptimal budget realization.
