Abstract

his research examined how team coordination and operational strategy influenced team performance, with change management acting as a mediating factor, focusing on the Alam Cahayo Tuah Nagori rowing team in the Pacu Jalur traditional competition. The study employed a quantitative method, gathering data from 80 respondents through structured questionnaires, which were analyzed using the Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLSSEM) technique. The results indicated that both team coordination and change management had a significant and positive impact on team performance, whereas operational strategy did not show a direct significant effect. Nonetheless, operational strategy was found to have a substantial indirect influence through change management, suggesting its role in enhancing adaptability and performance. The study emphasized that coordination functioned as the core of communication and synchronization among members, while change management was essential for maintaining consistent performance in dynamic race environments. Overall, the findings demonstrated that team effectiveness was achieved through the integration of coordination, strategic planning, and adaptive management, contributing to the theoretical advancement of operational management in traditional sports and offering practical guidance for improving teamwork and flexibility in cultural sport organizations.
