Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of TQM on operational performance in the convection industry in Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted by measuring the influence of TQM variables partially, including employee empowerment, continuous improvement, and management by fact. Analysis of data obtained from 80 respondents through a questionnaire was carried out using the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results showed that employee empowerment and management by fact had a positive and significant effect on operational performance, while continuous improvement did not have a statistically significant effect. Thus, the results of this study indicate that the improvement in operational performance of the convection industry in Pekanbaru City is influenced by the company's ability to empower employees through involvement in work and decision-making, as well as by the implementation of management by fact that supports objective and measurable decision-making.
