Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the Effectiveness of Heavy Equipment Usage at PT Riau Andalan Pulp and Paper Estate Pelalawan using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with semi structured interviews conducted with the Harvesting Manager, Harvesting Assistant, Excavator Mechanics, and Warehouse or Logistics Staff. The findings show that maintenance management at RAPP Estate Pelalawan has generally been running well and is able to maintain the OEE value of heavy equipment at a good level through the implementation of preventive and corrective maintenance supported by proper organization and budgeting. However, several challenges remain, such as hydraulic issues, service delays, inconsistent documentation, and miscommunication. To enhance maintenance effectiveness, the company needs to strengthen quality control, improve maintenance schedule accuracy, reinforce coordination, and ensure spare part readiness and operator discipline so the OEE value can be sustained or further improved
