Abstract

This study aims to analyze profit-increasing strategies through optimizing the production process at the Berkah Mandiri Brown Sugar Business. The main problem faced by the business is the suboptimal utilization of production resources, such as raw materials, labor, and production capacity, so that profits obtained have not reached the maximum level. The method used in this study is linear programming with a simplex approach, which aims to determine the optimal production combination of two types of products, namely large brown sugar (X1) and small brown sugar (X2). The results show that the optimal production combination is 300 kg of large brown sugar and 100 kg of small brown sugar, with a maximum profit of Rp8,200,000 per month. This result is higher than the actual condition of the business which earns a profit of Rp8,000,000 per month, resulting in an increase in profit of Rp200,000 per month. This increase in profit was achieved through a more efficient resource allocation strategy that includes raw materials, labor, and production capacity. This strategy prioritizes the use of resources on products that provide a greater profit contribution, so that input waste can be minimized and business profits can be increased. Thus, this study proves that optimizing the production process can be used as an effective strategy to increase profits in the Berkah Mandiri Brown Sugar Business.
