Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the culinary MSME sector in increasing entrepreneurs’ income and employment on Air Dingin Street, Pekanbaru City. The results show that culinary MSMEs play an important role in improving entrepreneurs’ income and employment absorption. Simultaneously, culinary MSMEs positively affect income and employment. Partially, the increase in entrepreneurs’ income corresponds to the rise in the number of workers, with an elasticity value of 0.72 indicating an inelastic relationship. These findings demonstrate that culinary MSMEs serve as a driving force for the local economy and contribute to reducing unemployment in the region.
