Abstract
Fish balls are one of the processed fishery products characterized by a chewy texture, distinctive taste, and high nutritional value due to their protein content and omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for health. This study aims to: (1) identify the characteristics of the entrepreneur and business profile, (2) analyze the input supply subsystem, (3) analyze the fish farming subsystem of catfish and pangasius, (4) analyze the agroindustry processing subsystem, (5) analyze the marketing subsystem, and (6) analyze the supporting service subsystem of the ―Sedap Bakat‖ fish ball business located in Air Dingin Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. This research was conducted over six months (November–April 2026) using a survey method with a case study approach. The data used consisted of primary and secondary data. The results show that the entrepreneur is on average 35.5 years old with a bachelor’s degree, while the workers have a high school education. The average business experience is 7.25 years, with an average of four family dependents. Established in 2015, the business is privately owned, has obtained permits from the Health Office and halal certification, and is categorized as a home industry. Initial capital was obtained through financial institutions In the farming subsystem, production costs amounted to IDR 29,349,095 per production cycle, with gross income of IDR 77.975.000 and net income of IDR 48.625.905, resulting in an R/C ratio of 2,66, indicating that the business is profitable and feasible. In the agroindustry subsystem, production costs were IDR 1,139,747 with a profit of IDR 1,860,253 per cycle, producing 30 kg of fish balls. There are two marketing channels: through retailers and direct sales to consumers. The direct channel is more efficient as it provides higher profits and a greater farmer’s share. Supporting subsystems include access to capital, extension services, and the need for improvements in management and product quality. Overall, the ―Sedap Bakat‖ business demonstrates good agribusiness integration and has strong potential for further development.
