Abstract

The Dieng Geothermal Working Area (GWA) is an active geothermal field developed within a volcanic environment characterized by complex geology and steep topography. These conditions make the area susceptible to surface deformation in the form of subsidence and uplift, which may be influenced by volcanic activity, lithological characteristics, and geothermal production. Surface deformation may affect regional stability and pose risks to geothermal infrastructure, particularly steam pipelines and surface facilities. This study aims to analyze annual surface deformation in the Dieng GWA during the period 2020– 2025 using the Two-Pass Differential Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (DInSAR) method based on Sentinel-1 Level-1 SLC data, and to investigate its relationship with geological conditions, land use land cover (LULC), and slope. Surface deformation was analyzed using multiple interferogram pairs with controlled spatial and temporal baselines to ensure data coherence. The deformation results were then integrated with geological, LULC, and slope parameters through statistical zonation and multiparameter scoring to produce a regional stability map. The results show that surface deformation in the Dieng GWA exhibits spatial and temporal variability, with dominant deformation values at the centimeter scale. Areas with relatively high deformation are generally associated with unconsolidated young volcanic deposits, non-forested land cover, and steep slope zones. The integration of all parameters enables the classification of regional stability and the identification of potentially unstable areas that may affect geothermal infrastructure.
