Abstract
The decrease in reservoir pressure causes the well to no longer be able to produce fluid optimally so that artificial lifting methods such as gas lift are needed. This study aims to analyze the effect of the amount of gas injection and injection depth on the production rate in Well X using the intermittent gas lift method and Well Y using continuous gas lift in Field Z. The analysis was carried out using Pipesim software through nodal analysis simulation. The results showed that increasing the amount of gas injection can increase the production rate to reach optimum conditions before over-injection occurs. The maximum flow rate in Well X was obtained at 720 STB/d at an injection depth of 4050–4260 ft with an injection gas amount of around 2.5 MMSCF/d which increased production results by 9.27% from the initial condition, then Well Y obtained an optimum flow rate of 1404.6 STB/d at an injection depth of 4260 ft with an injection gas amount of 5 MMSCF/d and obtained the most optimum flow rate increase of around 75.58%. These results indicate that optimization of the amount of gas and injection depth has an effect on increasing fluid production in the well..
