Abstract
This study was motivated by the importance of student creativity in group choreography courses, which require critical thinking skills, movement exploration, and teamwork. This study aims to identify the forms of creativity of dance students in the process of creating works in group choreography courses at the Islamic University of Riau. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of one group of five students. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed and conclusions were drawn. The results show that student creativity is influenced by internal factors such as self-motivation, courage to express opinions, ability to explore movement, and flexibility of thinking, as well as external factors such as lecturer support, a collaborative classroom atmosphere, studio facilities, and group cooperation. The students' creative process includes idea generation, exploration, improvisation, discussion, floor pattern arrangement, and work evaluation. Overall, student creativity develops through a combination of personal potential, learning environment, and a structured learning process.
