Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of arm muscle strength and hand-eye coordination to the overhand serve ability in volleyball at KBVC (Karya Baru Volleyball Club). This research employed a correlational design. The population and sample in this study were 17 volleyball players from KBVC, with the sampling technique being total sampling, resulting in a sample size of 17 players. The research instruments used were a push-up test, a hand-eye coordination test, and an overhand serve volleyball test. The data analysis technique used was calculating the multiple correlation value. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that: (1) There is a contribution of arm muscle strength to the overhand serve ability in volleyball at KBVC of 32.26%, with an r-value = 0.568, which is greater than the r-table value = 0.482, categorized as moderate; (2) There is a contribution of hand-eye coordination to the overhand serve ability in volleyball at KBVC of 28.52%, with an r-value = 0.534, which is greater than the r-table value = 0.482, categorized as moderate; (3) There is a combined contribution of arm muscle strength and hand-eye coordination to the overhand serve ability in volleyball at KBVC of 57.61%, with an r-value = 0.759, which is greater than the r-table value = 0.482, categorized as high.
