Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the influence of economic growth, income inequality and unemployment on poverty in Riau Province. The method used in this study is the quantitative analysis method. The data collection technique in this study is a documentation technique by collecting important records or documents to be researched and conclusions drawn. The data analysis techniques used were multiple linear regression test, hypothesis test and classical assumption test. The tool used to process data is the eviews application version 10. The results of the analysis are that economic growth has no effect on poverty with a regression coefficient value of -0.135939 which means that if economic growth increases by 1%, poverty in Riau Province decreases by 0.135939%. Income inequality affects poverty with a regression coefficient of 11.50785 which means that if income inequality increases by 1%, poverty in Riau Province increases by 11.50785%. Unemployment affects poverty with a regression coefficient of 0.510229 which means that if unemployment increases by 1%, poverty will increase by 0.510229%. Simultaneously, the variables of economic growth, income inequality and unemployment have an effect on poverty in Riau Province in 2010-2024. The R2 value is 0.818070, meaning that the influence of economic growth variables, income inequality and unemployment on poverty in Riau Province is 81.80% while the remaining 18.20% is influenced by other models that are not included in this study.
