Abstract

The digitalization of information Systems has become an essential requirement in supporting promotional activities and data management in higher education institutions, particularly in the New Student Admission (PMB) process. The Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Islam Riau still faces challenges in mapping the origin schools of prospective students and determining targeted promotional strategies due to the lack of integrated management of school data, alumni data, and promotional activities. This study aims to design and implement a Web-based Information System for the Distribution of Senior High Schools (SMA), Vocational High Schools (SMK), and Islamic Senior High Schools (MA) to assist the PMB team in managing school data, visualizing alumni distribution, and supporting promotional analysis through interactive mapping. The System was developed using the Waterfall method, which includes requirement analysis, System design, implementation, and testing. The developed System provides features for managing school data, alumni data, promotional activity data, as well as a promotional route guidance feature that assists the PMB team in planning school visits more effectively. The results of Black-box testing indicate that all System functions operate as expected without errors, while the User Acceptance Test (UAT) achieved a score of 97%, which falls into the Agree category, indicating that the System is well accepted by users. Therefore, the System is considered capable of improving the effectiveness of PMB promotion planning and serving as a datadriven decision support tool for the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Islam Riau in conducting promotional activities.
