Abstract

This study aims to implement virtual tour technology as an interactive school environment introduction medium for prospective new students at SMKN 5 Pekanbaru. The main problem addressed is the limited visual information in conventional promotional media such as brochures and static websites, which makes it difficult for prospective students to get a complete overview of the school environment. The method used in developing this application is image stitching, a technique for combining multiple photo images into a single 360-degree panoramic view. This research uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative approaches involving 22 students from SMKN 5 Pekanbaru as testing subjects. The results show that the use of feature-based image stitching successfully creates a realistic and interactive visualization of the school environment. Based on device testing results, this web-based application can be accessed smoothly on various screen sizes while maintaining visual quality. The conclusion of this research is that the virtual tour application serves as an innovative and effective solution in increasing attractiveness and facilitating virtual exploration of school facilities for prospective students and the general public.
