Abstract
The Pangkalan Kerinci IKK Water Supply System (SPAM IKK Pangkalan Kerinci), located in Pangkalan Kerinci District, Pelalawan Regency, Riau Province, is an important infrastructure that supports clean water services for the local community. This SPAM complex consists of several main structures, including the indoor water treatment plant (WTP) building, chemical storage warehouse, control panel house, and reservoir, all of which are supported by pile foundation systems. Considering the strategic function of these structures, an evaluation of foundation stability is required to ensure structural safety. This study aims to analyze the shear stability of pile foundations based on CPT and SPT soil data, to evaluate pile shear stability based on PDA load test results, and to compare the shear stability performance obtained from soil data with that derived from PDA load testing. The research object consists of spun pile foundations tested using the PDA method, namely piles C-4, G-8, and H-7. The data used in this study are secondary data, including CPT, SPT, and PDA test results, as-built shop drawing documents, and technical specifications of the piles. The effective foundation load was obtained through structural analysis using the SAP2000 software. The estimated pile bearing capacity based on CPT data was calculated using the Philipponant method, while the bearing capacity based on SPT data was calculated using the Meyerhof method. The PDA load test results were used as a reference for the actual pile bearing capacity, as they are considered to represent the actual pile performance in the field. The analysis results indicate that, theoretically, piles C-4, G-8, and H-7 are safe against shear failure because the ultimate bearing capacity values derived from both CPT and SPT data satisfy the required minimum safety factor. In actual conditions, the PDA load test results also show that the pile shear stability meets the safety criteria. The method comparison shows that the Philipponant method produces ultimate bearing capacity values that are relatively close to the PDA load test results, making it more conservative, whereas the Meyerhof method yields higher and more optimistic bearing capacity values. These differences are influenced by data limitations and the sensitivity of each method to variations in soil layering.
