Abstract

The high number of traffic accidents on Jalan Yos Sudarso Rumbai road in Pekanbaru City is a major problem that needs to be studied to determine the level of roadworthiness from a safety perspective. The purpose of this study is to determine the roadworthiness value based on the star rating and analyze the relationship between the Score Rating Score (SRS) and actual accident data from 2021 to 2025. The research method was conducted through a field survey to obtain road attribute data such as traffic flow, speed, road body attributes, roadside attributes, vulnerable road user facilities and land use, and intersections. The data obtained were then analyzed using a star rating method in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing of the Republic of Indonesia No. 06/P/BM/2024 concerning technical instructions for roadworthiness tests using star rating. The research results show that Jalan Yos Sudarso received a 3-star rating, indicating that the road is considered suitable, but still requires improvement in several safety aspects. Based on data from the Pekanbaru Police, 45 accidents have been recorded over the past five years. After conducting the research, the authors concluded that although the road meets the general roadworthiness criteria, improvements are still needed in safety facilities such as repairing road markings, installing signs, and installing street lighting.
