Abstract

This final project researcg aims to evaluate thr performance of unsignalized intersections on jalan limuno, taluk kuantan city. Traffic volume data were collected over four days, namely Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Based on the comparison of traffic volumes, the highest volume was recorded on Monday, May 5, 2025, during the evening peak hour from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., amounting to 2,251 passenger car units per hour (pcu/h). The analysis results indicate that the intersection capacity is 4155,89 pcu/h with a degree of saturation (DS) value of 0.54. This value suggests that the intersection performance remains in good and stable condition, as traffic flow is still well below the intersection capacity. The delay and queue probability values obtained from the analysis are within acceptable limits for an unsignalized intersection, with queues being temporary in nature and predominantly occurring on the minor road approaches due to traffic priority on the major road. Although the intersection does not experience capacity-related problems, field observations reveal the presence of operational and traffic safety issues, such as roadside vendors near the intersection area, vehicles stopping temporarily for shopping activities, and faded or unclear road markings. These conditions do not directly affect the degree of saturation but may potentially reduce traffic safety, comfort, and order if not addressed at an early stage.
