Abstract
Talking about law enforcement, of course there are those who enforce the law, namely law enforcers. Each law enforcer has their own position and role. One of them is the Police which is a state apparatus that plays a role in maintaining public security and order, law enforcement, protection, shelter, and service to the community in order to maintain domestic security as stated in Article 5 paragraph (1) of Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Republic of Indonesia National Police. The main problem in this study is how to enforce the law against perpetrators of aggravated theft at the Bangkinang City Police and what are the obstacles in implementing aggravated theft cases at the Bangkinang City Police. The method in this study is the empirical legal research method, namely research conducted by going directly to the field to obtain information and data through interviews. While the nature of the research is descriptive analytical, namely this research presents a clear, detailed and systematic picture of the problems to be studied. Based on the results of the study, it can be understood that the implementation of law enforcement against perpetrators of aggravated theft at the Bangkinang City Police Station carried out by the police has been very good in this case that even though there have been maximum efforts in law enforcement, several obstacles such as lack of resources and technical problems in collecting evidence sometimes hinder the legal process. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of law enforcement officers and community support to create a more effective and efficient legal process. Meanwhile, obstacles in the implementation of aggravated theft cases at the Bangkinang City Police Station require improved facilities, human resource training, and community support in providing accurate and cooperative information to accelerate the resolution of cases.
