Abstract

This study discusses the communication patterns that occur in the process of immigrant enforcement at the Pekanbaru Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim). This enforcement process includes stages from when immigrants are brought into Rudenim until deportation. The purpose of this study is to analyze the communication patterns of immigrant enforcement at the Pekanbaru Immigration Detention Center. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Research informants consisted of the Head of the Administration Subsection, the Head of the Security and Order Subsection, the Head of the RAP Subsection, and the Head of the PERKES Subsection. The results of the study indicate that the communication patterns that occurred at the Pekanbaru Rudenim ran well. All stages of communication for immigrant enforcement at the Pekanbaru Immigration Detention Center used two communication patterns, namely the circle communication pattern and the chain communication pattern. Communication is carried out vertically downwards (from superiors to subordinates), vertically upwards (from subordinates to superiors), and horizontally (between each officer in each section). The conclusion of this study is that the communication patterns used are the chain and circle patterns. This research is expected to provide an overview of the importance of effective communication patterns in carrying out the task of prosecuting immigrants at the Pekanbaru Immigration Detention Center.
