Abstract

The Cut Nyak Dien area in Pekanbaru City has great potential to be developed as a culinary center that can increase social interaction and the local economy. The development of Cut Nyak Dien as a culinary center area is supported by a number of strategic factors. However, the development of this area also faces several obstacles. The objectives of this study are to identify the characteristics of the Cut Nyak Dien culinary center that attract public interest in culinary, identify supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of the Cut Nyak Dien culinary area as a space for social interaction and economic activity, and determine the development strategy for the Cut Nyak Dien culinary center area in Pekanbaru City. The approach in this research is deductive. This research is classified as a deductive approach because the researcher examines general problems based on testing a theory consisting of variables to determine the development strategy for the culinary center area on Jalan Cut Nyak Dien, Pekanbaru City. The research method used in this study is a mixed method and the sample in this study is visitors to the Cut Nyak Dien Culinary Center Area with a sample size of 100 people. The approach in this research is deductive. This research is classified as a deductive approach because the researcher examines general problems based on testing a theory consisting of variables to determine the development strategy for the culinary center area on Jalan Cut Nyak Dien, Pekanbaru City.
